Mark Driscoll, PhD

At 454 Life Sciences, Mark led global product and project management on the GS-20 — the first commercial next-generation sequencing instrument, and the machine that started the NGS era.

He leads the Intus Bio team building the scientific case for the technology — the published work establishing strain-level resolution, and how it compares with 16S-only and shotgun methods, across 30+ peer-reviewed publications and growing.

Daniel Fasulo, PhD

Head of Bioinformatics. Co-inventor of Titan-1™.

Dan was Associate Director of Bioinformatics at 454 Life Sciences, working on that same instrument.

He built the classification platform behind Titan-1™ — the part that assigns identity from the complete ribosomal operon rather than matching short markers against a catalog, which is what improves detection of novel and poorly represented organisms.

Elena is a scientist and practitioner specializing in the microbiome, nutrigenetics, epigenetics, metabolomics and precision nutrition. At GutID she applies microbiome analysis to personalized interventions across diet, supplementation and lifestyle.

She has led educational workshops and works in science communication on microbial diversity, longevity microbiomics and gut-brain mechanisms.

Titan-1™ is not one trick. A proprietary lysis and extraction step we manufacture ourselves opens organisms conventional methods struggle to recover, while keeping the DNA intact across the more fragile ones — forceful enough for the tough, gentle enough for the rest. A patented amplicon spans the complete 16S–ITS–23S ribosomal region. And our own AI-driven bioinformatics platform assigns identity from that full operon. Species- and strain-level resolution comes from the combination, not from any single step.
