The practical details

One sample, taken at home in about five minutes, then posted back for analysis. Shipping is free both ways.
When your results arrive
Results take 3 to 4 weeks in the US, and 4 to 5 weeks in the UK and Canada. Your sample is read end to end rather than sampled in fragments — that full-length read is what the time buys.

How Titan-1 sees more of your gut
Most gut tests read a short snippet of bacterial DNA and work the rest out by inference. Titan-1 reads a long, unbroken stretch — and that one difference runs through everything below.

We open the tough ones, gently
Some gut bacteria have tough outer coats, and the usual methods struggle to break them open — what a test cannot open, it cannot see, so those bacteria quietly go missing. But force it, and you damage the DNA of the more delicate bacteria instead, and those get read badly. We make our own method that opens the tough ones without harming the rest, so both get counted properly.

We read it in one piece
Most tests read short fragments of DNA and piece the answer together, a bit like naming a book from a few scattered sentences. Our patented approach reads one long, unbroken stretch instead — enough to tell very similar bacteria apart. That only works because the DNA arrives undamaged.

We can spot the unfamiliar ones
Most tests name bacteria by matching them to a fixed list, so anything missing from that list gets overlooked or labeled wrongly. Our own AI-driven software works out identity from the DNA itself, so unusual and less-studied bacteria still show up.

How this compares to other gut tests
Most gut tests read DNA in short fragments, then reassemble the picture afterwards — and every reassembly is a chance to name the wrong organism. Shotgun approaches also spend much of the read on human DNA rather than bacteria. Targeted ones only find what they were already told to look for.
Titan-1 reads one long, unbroken stretch instead. That is what accuracy, completeness and detail come down to here: naming the organism correctly, missing fewer of them, and telling near-identical ones apart.
