Why GutID

Why GutID is different.

It finds what other gut tests miss.

A qPCR panel looks for a fixed list of organisms, and a 16S test reads one short piece of DNA. Titan-1 reads one continuous ~2,500-base fragment, so every bacterium in your gut is identified and measured, even when no species name exists.

Bacteria with no species name yet
In one real GutID result, bacteria with no assigned species name made up 35.7% of the gut, including its second and third largest. A 16S test would have stopped at genus. Titan-1 still separated and measured them.

An imbalance a pathogen panel would miss
In another real result, E. coli was at 16 times its upper reference limit. A pathogen panel looks for disease-causing E. coli genes, so it would likely have read negative. It does not measure how much E. coli the gut holds.

Titan-1™ long-read sequencing

How one long read becomes a map of your gut.

Titan-1 uses a patented method to amplify a single ~2,500-base fragment spanning the full 16S gene, the ITS and the start of 23S, and reads it end to end. Reading more of the DNA in one piece lets the report identify each organism and show how much of the community it holds.
